How big is it, really?
The AIDAsol's length overall, against things you already know the size of.
The 747-8 held the longest-airliner record for over a decade, until Boeing's 777-9 took it by about 19 inches (76.72 m), our sibling site aircraft.fyi measures everything that flies the same way.
One AIDAsol = 0.94 Titanics · 2.4 football pitches · 10 blue whales · 3.3 Boeing 747-8s laid end to end.

What makes it different
AIDAsol is the fifth Sphinx-series ship and one of the more quietly significant ones. She was among the first cruise ships anywhere fitted to take shore power, shutting her diesel generators down entirely while alongside and drawing electricity from the grid instead.
That matters more than it sounds. A large cruise ship at berth burns fuel continuously to run hotel services, and in city-centre ports like Hamburg that is the single biggest local air-quality complaint against the industry. Shore power removes it.
Her order in December 2007 also prompted a change to a ship already on the slipway: AIDAblu was enlarged mid-build to the 71,000-ton specification, which is why the last four Sphinx ships are bigger than the first three.
