Few yards have built more record-holders: the liner Normandie, the France, the largest supertankers ever constructed in one piece — Batillus and Pierre Guillaumat — and, in the modern era, Queen Mary 2, the Oasis-class cruise ships and MSC World Europa all came down the same Loire-estuary slipways.
State-owned since 2018 after passing through Alstom and STX ownership, the Saint-Nazaire yard remains one of only a handful on Earth capable of a 360-metre passenger ship, and its order book runs years deep with the next generation of LNG-powered giants.
Side profiles are sized by real length overall — longer ships draw bigger. Categories are never mixed.
