What makes it different
Costa Fascinosa was delivered in May 2012, four months after the loss of Costa Concordia — the ship her class was named for. She was already built and fitting out when the disaster happened, and entered service into a company being restructured around it.
Mechanically she is a straightforward Concordia-class ship: around 113,000 gross tons, 290 metres, thirteen passenger decks and capacity for some 3,780 people at maximum occupancy.
Her interiors follow the class theme of Italian cinema, with public rooms named for films and film-makers. Costa's design language across this generation is unapologetically maximalist, which sets the older ships apart sharply from the restrained LNG pair that now leads the fleet.
