How big is it, really?
The Celebrity Solstice's length overall, against things you already know the size of.
The 747-8 held the longest-airliner record for over a decade, until Boeing's 777-9 took it by about 19 inches (76.72 m) — our sibling site aircraft.fyi measures everything that flies the same way.
One Celebrity Solstice = 1.18 Titanics · 3.0 football pitches · 13 blue whales · 4.2 Boeing 747-8s laid end to end.

What makes it different
Celebrity Solstice was a step change for the line — around 30,000 gross tons larger than the Millennium ships before her, and the first Celebrity ship too wide for the original Panama Canal locks.
What she is remembered for is the grass. The Lawn Club is roughly half an acre of real turf laid on the top deck, irrigated, drained and mown while the ship is under way. It is expensive, heavy and entirely impractical, and it gave Celebrity a feature no competitor was willing to copy.
She also carried a glass-blowing studio operated with the Corning Museum of Glass, with live demonstrations at sea. The class ran to five ships in four years and remains the backbone of the fleet by capacity; Solstice herself went through a 45-day modernisation refit in early 2026.
