What makes it different
Celebrity Beyond is where the Edge class changed shape. Celebrity took the 306-metre hull of Edge and Apex, inserted twenty metres and an extra deck, and arrived at 140,600 gross tons — the specification the two later ships have followed.
The additional length went into public space more than cabins: a two-deck Sunset Bar terraced at the stern, an expanded Retreat sundeck for suite guests, and a longer Grand Plaza. Passenger numbers rose by only a few hundred, which is the point — Celebrity positions itself above the mass-market lines on space per guest.
She carries the Magic Carpet like her sisters, the cantilevered moving platform on the starboard side, and the Infinite Veranda cabins whose outer wall folds down to open the room to the sea. Her interiors were led by designer Kelly Hoppen and architect Nate Berkus, which is unusual naming for a cruise ship and entirely deliberate.
