What makes it different
Disney Wish is deliberately not the biggest ship on this board — Disney sells space per guest, not guests per ship. At roughly 144,000 gross tons she carries only about 2,500 passengers at double occupancy, a ratio of volume to people that the mega-ships cannot match.
She was Disney's first new class in a decade and its first LNG-powered ship, built by Meyer Werft with a fairy-tale-castle Grand Hall in place of a traditional atrium and the AquaMouse — a ride Disney insists is an 'attraction at sea' rather than a waterslide, with show scenes played inside the tube.
The class formula worked: Disney Treasure and Disney Destiny followed in 2024 and 2025, and the Wish platform now anchors Disney's Port Canaveral operation alongside the original Magic-class ships.
