What makes it different
Enchanted Princess is a useful reminder of how badly the 2020 shutdown hit shipbuilding schedules. Fincantieri completed her that year, Princess took delivery, and then she sat — christened remotely, with no itinerary to run, for well over a year before finally carrying paying passengers in late 2021.
Structurally she is the second of the three enlarged Royal-class ships at 145,281 gross tons, with the same Piazza atrium, the same cantilevered SeaWalk over the ship's side, and the same nineteen decks as Sky and Discovery.
The class as a whole is Princess's longest-running modern platform — six ships across nine years, plus P&O Cruises' Britannia on the same hull — and Enchanted sits in its most developed phase.
