What makes it different
Symphony of the Seas spent four years as the largest cruise ship in the world, and did it the Oasis-class way: not by novelty but by refinement, stacking incremental gains on Harmony's design until she measured 228,081 gross tons.
Like every Oasis-class ship she is really two towers of cabins with an open-air canyon between them — Central Park, with more than 20,000 live plants, running down the middle of the ship at deck eight. The class's genuinely strange achievement is making a vessel of this size feel like an outdoor resort rather than an enclosed hull.
The title moved on to Wonder of the Seas in 2022 and then to the Icon class, but Symphony still sits comfortably inside the world's top ten by tonnage, and her seven-night Caribbean program from Miami is among the most heavily booked itineraries in cruising.
