What makes it different
Carnival Vista was the fleet's flagship for four years and the last generation before the Excel ships changed the scale entirely. Fincantieri took the Dream-class hull, added about eighteen metres, redesigned the stern and the atrium, and produced 133,500 gross tons of ship.
The signature feature is SkyRide, a suspended recumbent-cycle track running a lap of the top deck with the sea directly below — Carnival's habit of putting a ride rather than a view at the top of the ship, which BOLT later took further. She also carried the first brewery at sea on a North American ship, brewing on board rather than serving in bottles.
Three ships followed the design at Carnival and several more across Carnival Corporation's other brands, making Vista one of the most reproduced cruise-ship platforms of the decade.
