What makes it different
Norwegian Getaway is Norwegian Breakaway's sister and near-identical twin — the same 324-metre Meyer Werft hull, the same 145,655 gross tons, the same eighteen decks and the same Waterfront, an outdoor boardwalk running around Deck 8 with restaurants opening straight onto it.
Where Breakaway was themed on New York, Getaway was themed on Miami, with a hull mural by Miami artist David 'LEBO' Le Batard and an interior leaning on the city's colour palette. NCL's habit of tying each ship to its homeport city was at its most literal in this pair.
She has worked Caribbean itineraries from Miami for most of her career, with European seasons interspersed, and remains a good demonstration of how durable the Breakaway platform proved: eight hulls across three sub-classes and three operators over six years.
