What makes it different
MSC Euribia is the environmental argument of the MSC fleet made into steel. She is the second LNG-powered ship the company took delivery of, the largest of the Meraviglia-Plus group at 184,011 gross tons, and the one MSC points to when the subject of cruise emissions comes up.
The claim was tested immediately. In June 2023, on her delivery voyage from Saint-Nazaire to Copenhagen, she ran on bio-LNG across the full four-day passage in what MSC reported as a net-zero greenhouse gas voyage. The exercise was as much about the fuel supply chain as the ship — bio-LNG had to be produced, certified and bunkered at scale to make it work.
Underneath the environmental headline she is a conventional Meraviglia-Plus: 331 metres, sixteen passenger decks, the two-deck Galleria promenade under an LED dome, and the Yacht Club enclave forward. Her hull art, chosen from a children's competition, shows two dolphins — a deliberate contrast to the industrial subject matter of her machinery.
