How big is it, really?
The Royal Princess's length overall, against things you already know the size of.
The 747-8 held the longest-airliner record for over a decade, until Boeing's 777-9 took it by about 19 inches (76.72 m) — our sibling site aircraft.fyi measures everything that flies the same way.
One Royal Princess = 1.23 Titanics · 3.1 football pitches · 13 blue whales · 4.3 Boeing 747-8s laid end to end.

What makes it different
Royal Princess is the ship that set the shape of the modern Princess fleet. She arrived in 2013 at 142,714 gross tons — around 27,000 more than the largest Grand-class ship — and every Princess ship built in the following decade descended from her.
Two ideas came with her. The Piazza, a three-deck atrium at the centre of the ship with cafés and shops stacked around it, replaced the traditional single-height lobby. And the SeaWalk, a glass-floored walkway cantilevered about 8.5 metres beyond the hull and 39 metres above the water, gave Princess a feature no competitor had.
She was christened at Southampton in June 2013 by the Duchess of Cambridge, in her first public engagement after her wedding — and the third Princess ship to carry the Royal name.
