How big is it, really?
The Costa Toscana's length overall, against things you already know the size of.
The 747-8 held the longest-airliner record for over a decade, until Boeing's 777-9 took it by about 19 inches (76.72 m) — our sibling site aircraft.fyi measures everything that flies the same way.
One Costa Toscana = 1.25 Titanics · 3.2 football pitches · 13 blue whales · 4.4 Boeing 747-8s laid end to end.

What makes it different
Costa Toscana is the larger half of the pair the modern Costa fleet is organised around. She and Costa Smeralda are the line's only LNG ships, and at 185,010 gross tons they are roughly 50,000 tons bigger than anything else Costa runs.
The hull is Carnival Corporation's Excel platform — the same design underneath AIDAnova, P&O's Iona and Arvia, and Carnival Cruise Line's Mardi Gras group. Seven brands, one set of drawings, and in Costa's case an interior themed around Italian regions rather than the Nordic minimalism or British formality the other operators chose.
Liquefied natural gas cuts sulphur oxides and particulates to near zero and carbon dioxide by roughly a fifth against marine gas oil. The catch is bunkering: LNG is available at a limited number of ports, which is part of why Toscana works a fixed Western Mediterranean rotation rather than roaming.
