What makes it different
Carnival Magic is the middle Dream-class ship and the one that added the feature Carnival has since put nearly everywhere: SportSquare, an open-air sports deck with a suspended ropes course running above it.
Otherwise she is her class — 306 metres, roughly 128,000 gross tons, the wraparound Deck 5 promenade, fourteen passenger decks. She also introduced Cucina del Capitano, an Italian restaurant themed around the ship's officers, and RedFrog Pub, both of which became fleet standards.
Carnival's habit of prototyping one new venue per delivery and then retrofitting the winners across the fleet is unusually visible in this class, and Magic is the clearest example of it.
