How big is it, really?
The AIDAstella's length overall, against things you already know the size of.
The 747-8 held the longest-airliner record for over a decade, until Boeing's 777-9 took it by about 19 inches (76.72 m) — our sibling site aircraft.fyi measures everything that flies the same way.
One AIDAstella = 0.94 Titanics · 2.4 football pitches · 10 blue whales · 3.3 Boeing 747-8s laid end to end.

What makes it different
AIDAstella closed the Sphinx series in 2013 — seven ships in six years, all from Meyer Werft at Papenburg, and the class that turned AIDA from a small German operator into Carnival Corporation's biggest brand in that market.
She was christened at Warnemünde by ten women simultaneously, which is unusual: naming ceremonies almost always have a single godmother, and the choice fitted a line that markets itself as informal and unstuffy.
Like every AIDA ship she carries the hull art the brand is built on — a pair of eyes and red lips painted across the bow. It is the only mainstream fleet in the world with a face on the front, and it makes an AIDA ship identifiable at a distance from any angle.
