What makes it different
Carnival Breeze was the last of the Dream class delivered to Carnival Cruise Line, entering service in March 2012, and she then held flagship status for four years — the longest Carnival went without a new ship in its modern era.
She dropped the water park of her sisters in favour of a larger adults-only Serenity deck, and carried the debut of Guy's Burger Joint, the Guy Fieri partnership that has since been fitted to almost every ship in the fleet. Subsequent refits added Guy's Pig & Anchor BBQ and the Alchemy Bar.
By current standards she is mid-sized — about 128,000 gross tons against the Excel ships' 183,000 — but the Dream platform she completes is still the most numerous large-ship family Carnival operates, and the direct ancestor of the Vista class.
