The story

What makes it different

Carnival Jubilee is the third of the Excel class, the largest ships in Carnival Cruise Line's history and the first American-market ships powered by LNG. She shares her platform with AIDA Nova and Costa Smeralda — Carnival Corporation ordered the same Meyer-designed LNG hull for three of its brands and let each dress it differently.

Carnival's dressing includes BOLT, an electric rollercoaster looping the funnel deck at up to 40 mph — still the only rollercoaster genre at sea — and two new ocean-themed zones, Currents and The Shores, unique to Jubilee within the class.

Stationed year-round in Galveston, she is the largest cruise ship ever based in Texas, a deliberate bet on the fastest-growing drive-to cruise market in the United States.
