What makes it different
Celebrity Infinity is the second Millennium-class ship and spends much of her time on the itineraries that suit a mid-sized hull: South America, the Chilean fjords, Alaska and the Pacific coast.
The class shares an unusual specification — gas turbines rather than diesels, driving Mermaid azimuth pods. The arrangement was chosen for cleaner emissions and a quieter ship, and its main legacy was a long run of pod reliability problems that affected all four vessels through the 2000s.
She came through the Revolution refit with reworked staterooms, a rebuilt spa and the Retreat suite area, and now sits in the fleet as a small, long-range ship in a line whose newest vessels are 50,000 tons larger.
